DEDICATED TO THE BENEFACTORS OF THE FOUNDATION

Unexpectedly for us, psychologist and trainer Yulia Yakunina shared her gratitude to the foundation's benefactors and told how financial support changes the lives of children and teenagers.

"I have been working with teenagers and their parents since the foundation's inception.
⠀
I am very grateful to the benefactors of the foundation. To everyone who is involved in the programs and supports us in every way.
⠀
Today, I would like to thank those benefactors who donate to support our trainings and individual consultations.
⠀
It's extremely important for children to know that they can ask for help, be heard, understood, move forward with their questions and solve problems.
⠀
In my opinion, almost everyone, both adults and children, needs support. Especially the children we work with. Because they go through some tough life lessons and situations. They need special attention and care. It happens sometimes that it is the psychologist who becomes that significant person playing an important role in their life. Working individually or in small groups, I see a big breakthrough in some children.

They improve their attitude towards themselves, self-esteem. They have an understanding of where and how to move forward, what to do. Many of them become more self-confident, make acquaintances more easily. Children begin to freely express their point of view, reduce aggressiveness, and begin to accept others as they are.

This is evident when new participants join our online and offline trainings: "veteran" participants always accept them with interest, they listen, never condemn someone else's point of view (at least out loud).

In addition, during the trainings, we discuss things that teenagers have never talked about with any of the adults. But I know, according to them, that these questions are very important and concern their young hearts.

These questions are: what awaits me in the future, what career to choose, how to communicate with the opposite sex, whether there is a God. Many questions come from the field of sex education: the first sexual experience, what to do in case of sexual abuse, etc.

There are things they never thought about. I ask them a question, they are silent, think for a long time and as a result say: "I have never thought about it, I don't know how to answer, it is difficult for me to put my opinion in words."

But as a trainer and psychologist, I know that the seed has been sown, that they have thought about it and it will not pass them by. And one day they will remember it and apply all the knowledge that we are now sharing with them. Knowledge about their personal value, dignity, realization that they are important, needed, that they have the right to live and be happy.

I told all my groups about the Maslow's pyramid and about what a person can achieve in their development. Boys and girls have always responded to this knowledge.
